"Hard work always pays off. Work while others are sleeping. Smile while others are frowning. Believe while others are doubting. It's up 2 u!"- Dr. Ian Smith
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love."
- 1 John 4:18
It's funny how on what feels like the worst of weight loss weeks (or on the slowest weeks at Weigh-In), they somehow seem to be the best weeks to grow and learn something deeper from this lifestyle program than just a number. My most frustrating weeks where I worked my butt off can sometimes be the slowest or barely moving weeks at the scale. But when I take a step back and evaluate how far I've come, I thank God for showing me what really matters most--
doing this FOR my body and FOR my health FOR LIFE!
Life can be so hard and unpredictable sometimes, and before Weight Watchers I used to just give up on myself so easily whenever I got frustrated and ease right back into those old and unhealthy habits. Isn't it so easy for us to 'do what we know' when times get tough? If you were a smoker before and you hit a rough patch, it's easy to wanna reach for that cig for an instant calm feeling. Or if drinking makes someone feel at ease they may go reach for that to help take the edge off of a stressful situation. For me, food was my drug and I used it as if it were a refuge, waiting to welcome me into its arms when I couldn't figure out how to deal with disappointments or pressures in life. So many times I just went back to food, and I didn't ever think that I could find another way. I had given up on myself so fast, and I didn't believe that I truly had a chance of succeeding in my eyes. But the first, and most important person that you should live to impress is yourself. The first and most important person you should love and feel is
WORTH your love is
YOU! And even
MORE important than that, it takes God to fill that void of hurt and disappointment in your life, not food. Because food is fuel, and we can enjoy the
BEST of our world in
moderation! But God fills the hurt with His love and He helps us feel worth it
to OURSELVES each and every day.
Romans 5:5- "And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us"
So even on your most disappointing days, just know that you
ARE good enough, and that
YES YOU ARE WORTH LIVING THIS LIFESTYLE FOR THE LONG-HAUL!!!!
